Project 1111 is about restoring the lives of 1111 people with limb-loss in DRCongo.
Backed by famous Congolese Diaspora, we’re raising 500.000 € to reach our goal!
What is Project 1111?
Every person deserves the chance to walk, work, play, and live with dignity — regardless of their physical condition. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, thousands of people with limb loss live without access to proper prosthetic care. Project 1111 is here to change that.
Our mission: to restore mobility and independence to 1,111 people with limb loss across the DRC by providing them with high-quality, locally made prosthetic limbs.
Who’s behind the project?
Prothea Congo, a local ngo, is leading the implementation of this project. Powered by innovation and guided by compassion, Prothea Congo uses advanced 3D printing technology to deliver affordable prosthetics made in-country. This means faster delivery times, lower costs, and long-term sustainability.
We work hand in hand with:
BDOM (Bureau Diocésain des Œuvres Médicales): one of the largest medical networks in Congo, providing logistical support and trusted access to communities in need.
The Ministry of Health: offering formal support and alignment with national health priorities.
Congolese football teams and players, both local and in the diaspora: their powerful voices are helping raise awareness and rally support for this cause.
Why 1,111?
Each number represents a unique story — a child hoping to return to school, a parent longing to support their family, an athlete dreaming of running again. Project 1111 gives these stories a second chapter.
Our Goal
To make this vision a reality, we are raising €500,000. These funds will support:
The production of 1,111 custom-made prosthetic limbs
Training of local medical and technical staff
Establishment of long-term rehabilitation services
Awareness and outreach campaigns across the DRC
Join Us
This is more than a medical project. It’s a movement — a coalition of Congolese professionals, diaspora leaders, healthcare workers, footballers, and supporters like you.
Together, we can walk the journey with 1,111 Congolese people — step by step, limb by limb.
